The Local Ethics Committee (LEC), an independent body based within AMU, supports the conduct of clinical research in compliance with the rights and interests of participants and ethical standards. The LEC was established by Order No. 10 on September 29, 2017.
The LEC, whose composition is approved by the AMU rector, consists of seven members: five doctors, one lawyer, and one clergyman. The committee conducts ethical and legal assessments of clinical practices, clinical drug research, and other research projects, including dissertations, from a medical-social perspective.
At committee meetings, general issues were discussed, dedicated to creating an effective mechanism for interaction among all parties involved in clinical research and identifying and addressing modern challenges in regulating clinical trials and biomedical research.
During the reporting period, three meetings of the LEC were held, with ethical reviews conducted for one doctoral study and five Ph.D. studies, a total of six scientific research projects:

The average duration for conducting expert reviews and providing information was 2-3 weeks. No significant violations involving participants in scientific research were identified during the reporting period.
